Grooming

Professional dog and cat grooming is a necessary part to the health and appearance of your pet. Regular groomings are necessary for specific breeds such as Poodles, Spaniels, Terriers and long-haired cats. All breeds can benefit from grooming which aids in removing dirt, dander and shedding hair, which can mat the coat of some animals. Your groomer will also condition the coat as needed, clean ears, trim nails, check teeth, express the anal glands and advise of any conditions that may require a veterinarians attention while giving your pet the desired cut.

There are many cut styles for poodles ranging from the Dutch cut to the Field cut. The classic Schnauzer cut can be adapted to Yorkshire Terriers and the Lion or Bear cut is popular with Pomeranians, Chows and the long-haired cat breeds such as the Himalayan and the Persian to name a few. Pet owners can decide which style fits their needs and their pet's looks the best.

Pets that are heavily matted may require a strip, which involves shaving the coat short all over. This cut is recommended for animals that are groomed irregularly and are matted to the skin, or for animals that have a "cottony" coat that mats easily. Mat removal by combing can be a painful process. We recommend that you discuss your pets grooming options with your groomer at the time of the appointment.

A clean, well-groomed pet is a happy pet.
