KiKi Bennett, DVM purchased Hart Road Animal Hospital in early 2005. She obtained her veterinary degree from Colorado State University, graduating in 2000. Areas of special interest include oncology, cardiology, internal medicine and preventative/wellness care. Dr. Bennett worked for two veterinary clinics in the Seattle metropolitan area after graduation, eventually deciding that the Portland area is the place to be. Dr. Bennett lives in Aloha with her 3 dogs, and 2 cats. Her hobbies are music - playing the clarinet, canine agility and fly ball, horseback riding, gardening and skiing. She is interested in exploring therapy dog training with her Bloodhound mix as well as continuing to foster children in need.
Dr. Patti Smith is our part-time associate and also does relief work throughout the Metro area. She graduated from Colorado State University Veterinary College in 2000. Her special professional interests include dermatology, geriatric medicine, behavior, and client education. In her free time, Patti and her husband love and care for their five cats and three dogs. She also enjoys photography, scuba diving, reading, traveling and hiking.

Cordelia was brought to HRAH as a stray that had been hit by a car. She suffered a broken femoral head which was not surgically repairable. After her rehabilitation was complete, attempts were made to place Cordelia in a loving home, however, she had other ideas. She has now become our clinic cat and has mellowed quite a bit though she can still be a little persnickety. We love her dearly and if you are ever in the lobby, she may come up and sit in your lap.

Sandy is our recently graduated Certified Veterinary Technician from the PCC program. She worked here at Hart Road as our weekend Kennel Technician while attending school. Now that her two children are in college, Sandy has changed careers from many years as a Navy Hospital Corpsman/Laboratory Technician, and then homemaker. She has five cats (Bright Eyes, Fozzie, Macy, Zuki, and Isis), and a dog (Paprika), living in her home. She splits her time between family, work, and extra curricular activities. Since her youngest was born, Sandy has been active in the art of Taiji, and is currently attending the U.S. Wushu Center in Portland. Sandy also likes to hike and visit new places. In her spare time, she loves to do all types of needlecrafts and sewing

Kattie is originally from Yakima, WA. She moved to Oregon in 2003 with her two beautiful boys. They spend a lot of time exploring Portland. They enjoy hiking, riding bikes, and sightseeing. Kattie enjoys writing poems and drawing, and hopes one day to write a book. She is musically inclined, playing the accordion, piano, drums and her newly acquired guitar. Her boys love music too, so they hope to all play together one day.  Kattie recently adopted her very first pet, Grover.  He is a very sweet orange tabby Ellen brought in as a stray with an abscess.  Dr. Bennett successfully repaired it and he remained in Hart Road's care until his adoption in January.

Gilligan is a transplant from Seattle and arrived with Dr. Bennett. He is possibly the friendliest cat your will ever meet. If you hold him, he will give you kisses. Gilligan suffers from diabetes and requires daily insulin therapy. He also has food allergies, thus, he lives very happily in the controlled  environment of HRAH. Realistically, no one else could afford all his medical care so he is very lucky to have found a mom that is also a veterinarian

Wendy was a new edition to Oregon in April, 2007, having started her career as a Veterinary Assistant in California’s Central Coast 15 months earlier. She loves it here, and is dedicated to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician in the grand state of Oregon. You will often find Wendy perusing the local library for new movies to watch, exploring her new surroundings, and brushing many little kitty teeth. Wendy shares the love and responsibility of her four “fur-children” (cats) with her girlfriend. Lady Olivia Chestnut, Sir Pippin, Poe Sparrow, and Dickens Nottinghamshire were each rescued from different situations in a one-year period during Wendy’s veterinary career in California
Krystal has been part of the Hart Road team since August, 2007.  She started working in the veterinary field in November, 2005 at a clinic in Wilsonville, Oregon.  Krystal loves animals and has her own personal zoo at home.  She has five cats (Buffy, Eddie, Ollie, Tiger, and Snuggles). She also cares for a yellow Lab named Casey who loves to play fetch and go to the beach, as well as two Lhasa Ahpsos, Riley and Charlene.  Krystal graduated from Tigard High School in 2006, and will be continuing her education soon in hopes of becoming a registered nurse. Krystal enjoys traveling to Bakersfield, California to see her boyfriend, shopping, and whitewater rafting in Maupin,  Oregon when the weather permits

Dickens Nottinghamshire has become quite the celebrity here at Hart Road. He was united with Wendy after a Good Samaritan found him on the side of the road, without the ability to walk. Radiographs showed a bullet in his spine, causing him to lose the use of his back legs and bladder. The bullet remains to this day, and Dickens relies on Wendy to express his bladder two times a day. He now has the use of a Kitty Cart Wendy constructed to allow him better mobility. Dickens enjoys the slick floors at Hart Road, so it is not unusual to find him wheeling around the hospital.
